FIFA World Cup 2010 Betting – Ireland Will Beat France Says Keith Barry
- 0 Comments
Druid Master Keith Barry is at it again with his sporting predictions, and has bookmaker Paddy Power running for cover.
Barry is predicting a 2-1 victory for Ireland at Croker this Saturday, and is also claiming star striker Robbie Keane will score the first goal of the qualification game.
The odds on Ireland defeating France 2-1 are 10/1 while the odds on Keano hitting the back of the net first are 6/1. Shrewd punters however, have been busy snapping up the 35/1 odds on both occurring.
A spokesperson of the bookie said: “We take Keith’s predictions very seriously as do the rest of the country by the looks of things! Keith has already proved he can get it right we’re just hoping his crystal ball is on the blink this weekend!”
It is no surprise that Paddy Power is a little worried. The bookie still bears the scars from last year when Barry correctly predicted that Leinster would beat Leicester by exactly 3 points in the Heineken Cup Final. It left a hole in the bookmaker’s pocket for more than €200,000.
And Paddy Power are also throwing Irish fans a novelty lifeline this weekend. If X Factor twins Jedward are unfortunate enough to get eliminated this week, the company will refund all losing 1st/last goalscorer, correct score and scorecast singles bets on the match.
