Playtech The global online gambling industry is growing, and Playtech is one of the software companies that is helping along the growth. They have made a major push of late towards becoming the leading software provider for some of the biggest Internet gaming companies in the world.
First, they began their push by signing deals with William Hill and Paddy Power. Now, they have added another powerhouse gaming operator, Betfair, to their growing list of clients.
“We see the Betfair agreement as highly significant in terms of revenue potential, geographic reach, and as a clear endorsement of Playtech’s market-leading products and services,” said Paul Leyland, an analyst with Collins Stewart.
Betfair has not offered bingo to their customers in the past. Now that they have reached an agreement with Playtech, bingo will be offered. There is no word yet on whether Playtech poker software will be used, but the early indications are that it will not.
When Playtech signed their deal with William Hill, it came with a twenty-nine percent piece of William Hill’s online business. The news of the Betfair deal was good for Playtech on the stock market as well. Shares of the company jumped ten percent on Tuesday.
