Jonathan Trott is 9/2 to score a century for England in Friday’s Headingley Fourth Test according to Irish bookmaker Paddy Power.
With Ravi Bopara looking far from comfortable at England’s troublesome number three spot Trott is 11/8 to step in with a half century and 5/1 to top score in England’s first innings should he play.
Freddie Flintoff’s injury concerns is also putting a lot of speculation on England’s likely bowling line up with Stuart Broad’s form with the ball leaving many questions to be answered on England’s likely attack.
Darren Haines, spokesman for the bookie, said: “Whether for form or fitness there are plenty of question marks over the England team and the betting in favour of the Australians at Headingley suggests it could prove unwise for the England selectors to be lulled into any false sense of security at this stage.”
Paddy Power are betting on which England bowler might step up to the plate with a first innings ‘five-fer’ making attack leader Jimmy Anderson 6/1, Flintoff himself 9/1 and Steve Harmison 10/1 to return with a five wicket text haul.
For the match itself, England are 5/2 to win at Headingley with the Australian’s still being backed to bounce back at 8/5.
